HOPE House

"The most beautiful thing a person can do is to forgive wrong."                                                         (Judaism)

HOPE house is a place where miracles happen.  In 1987 Father  A. Joseph Bissonette, a Roman Catholic priest, was brutally murdered by two teenagers. Yet, less than two years after his death, the site became HOPE House, a home for men recently released from prison.  The very room where Father Joe died, is the place where nine ex-offenders (Christian, Muslim, Jews, Native Americans) and Sister Karen Klimczak (a Sister of St. Joseph) join hands in prayer--and in the midst of the prayer--lives are changed, men are reborn and given a new chance in life.

Father Joe Bissonette reached out to the poor, to the forgotten of society.  At HOPE House his ministry continues and he is the inspiration for the men and staff at the House.

The residents of HOPE live in community, supporting each other as they work toward change in their lives.  Together they live, pray, struggle, and enjoy each other as change slowly becomes a part of their lives.

HOPE is a place where neighbors gather together in helping the changing neighborhood to become a safer environment in which to live.

Forgiveness and turning to God are key factors that foster the miracles that happen at HOPE House.
